Batavia coast


The Batavia coast stretches from the Nambuck national park north to Kalbarrie, it was named after a shipwreck the Batavia, which was wrecked off the Houtman Abrolhos islands, 80km west of Geraldton, in 1629. There are many nation parks on the Batavia coast.

The Numbuck national park which takes in the Pinnicles, which are sandstone mounds which have been eroded by the wind and rain.

Kalbarrie national park with its gorges and rivers, there is good surfing at Kalbarrie on Jaques point, and good windsurfing at Coronation beach and Point Moore in Geraldton.
