Bribie Island


Bribie Island is the only Queensland island connected to the mainland by bridge, so no ferry fee's. The island is 34 kilometres long, and 8 kilometres wide with a few camping place along the beach, the north part of the island is not accessible by vehicles.

The naval site of Fort Bribie was built at the outbreak of WWII, becoming operational by early 1942 to provide defence support against light raiding warships.
