Mitchell_Plateau

Mitchell Falls is located in the remote but accessible Mitchell River National Park in the Kimberley, Western Australia. For a four wheel drive (4WD) challenge, take a detour off the Gibb River Road on Kalumburu Road heading north to Drysdale River Station and on the Port Warrender road to the Mitchell Plateau (dry season only).

Mitchell Plateau is a true wilderness adventure with beautiful panoramas of wild escarpments, tropical rainforests and the thundering four tiered falls known as Mitchell Falls.

A 6 kilometre hike from the camping ground via Little Mertens Falls and Big Mertens Falls takes you to the Mitchell Falls a 4 tiered waterfall. Some people just take the helicopter from the campgrounds, or if you are tired after the 6k walk you can return by helicopter
